October 2026

It’s finally here—Election Day! ShelterJH members have been working hard to make sure our community knows when, where, how, and why to vote. We’ll see you at the polls, and here’s other news from this month:

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY

Make sure you get out and vote today! You can vote at any of these polling places until 7pm: the Rec Center, Teton County Weed and Pest, Old Wilson Schoolhouse, and both libraries in Jackson and Alta. Bring your ID and our voter guide!

ShelterJH Gets Out the Vote!

ShelterJH members turned out in full force to make sure locals have the information they need to make it to the polls. One of the best parts is meeting our furry neighbors along the way. HUGE thanks to all of our volunteers and donors who made this work possible!

Old Bill’s 2026: Mission Accomplished
We want to once again thank our thriving community for their support during Old Bill’s season. Latiné Coordinator Blanca Moye picked up our check last week. Your support helps ensure that local housing remains a priority in Jackson Hole, year after year! We’re proud to do this work alongside so many people who believe that the locals who make this community special should be able to afford to live here. It takes all of us, and we’re grateful you’re part of ShelterJH.

Northern South Park approved!
In October, the Teton County Commission approved the development plan for 557 homes in Northern South Park, including nearly 400 permanently deed-restricted homes for locals. This progress is the result of years of community advocacy, hard work, and collaboration. ShelterJH is proud to have helped push for a neighborhood where locals can live, work, and put down roots. Now, let’s get these homes built!

Comment period open: Housing Rules and Regulations
The Town Council and County Commission are considering updates to the Housing Rules and Regulations. We weighed in on everything from first responder preferences and rent reductions for vacant deed-restricted homes to compliance fees, occupancy limits, and income ranges.
