Nelson Drive Neighborhood
A local Jackson resident has filed a lawsuit against the 100% deed-restricted Nelson Drive development led by the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust and the Forest Service—and we’ll be watching closely as this litigation unfolds.
Moreover, back in 2022, Grand Teton National Park pulled back from an early role in the Nelson Drive housing opportunity due to funding concerns. The Teton County Commissioners are scheduled to discuss a $4.05 million investment into Nelson Drive on February 3. We hope they negotiate a better deal on behalf of the public.
Our Annual Survey is live!
Our annual survey is now live! ShelterJH is a member-led organization and we want to make sure we are supporting and representing our members effectively.
Representation is especially important as we enter the 2026 election season and prepare to release endorsements.
Respondents who complete this survey by February 13 will be eligible to win a $50 Pearl Street Bagels gift card. You do not need to be a current ShelterJH member to win!
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Town Council tackles LDR updates
This month, the Jackson Town Council voted unanimously to move forward with potential updates to key Land Development Regulations (LDR) that affect housing access in our community. Changes to the 2-for-1 housing bonus, basement regulations, and short-term rental rules are all on the table.
We provided in-person feedback at the workshop, urging Council to prioritize solutions that expand housing opportunities for local residents and workers. We’ll keep tracking this work and share ways you can stay involved as proposals take shape.
“Exit Interview” Event
Wyoming’s future depends on who can afford to stay, whether considering housing, healthcare, or other rising costs of living.
An upcoming webinar hosted by the Wyoming Business Council centers the voices of young Wyomingites sharing what’s pulling them away and what might convince them to put down roots. While we understand how the acute housing shortage is a major factor—especially in Teton County—we look forward to learning about how we can support Wyomingites to stay in Wyoming! Sign up here.
